Thank you to InkSlinger PR for an e arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 14th book in the Masters and Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake. I read this but haven't read any in the previous series. I thought you could read this as a standalone but you can't I got half way though and released however I still ended up finishing it and enjoying. It definelty gives spoilers for the other books but I still could work out what was happening and I intend to go back and read the other books.

Overall my enjoyment of the book was great  I enjoyed storyline it felt like watching an episode of a TV show it was action packed and really visually written. I enjoyed the main players in the book and all the side characters and made me want to go and read some their stories.

Love another day explores, relationships and forgiveness. In this book it also deals with an D/s relationship (Dom/Sub) which I think was done in a really great way.

In the end I really had a great time reading Love another day giving it 3.75 stars.

Book Blitz: Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward

Penelope Ward's latest contemporary romance novel, Drunk Dial just went live!

New York Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author
Penelope Ward

Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him.

Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.

I didn’t think he’d call me back.

I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.

Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.

Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

A complete STANDALONE.

Sunday Post #45 - Busy, Busy!

The Sunday post was created by Caffeinated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review!

Hello everyone I hope you are all well. The weather is changing here in the UK, it is feeling like summer one minute then fall the next. I can't wait for fall, it's my favourite time of year.

I have three more days of work to go then I have 11 days off! My plans are to spend time with my friends and family. I am also going to be trying to read as much as I can as I have to read 14 books in the next month for reviews on my blog and am such a slow reader. Am trying to finish putting my outfit together for my dad's wedding and have to go sign up for a course starting in September. So busy, busy. I have also scheduled my blog diary with posts until the beginning of November, I just need to write them up and schedule them! I have also been colouring in a lot and I have been loving it, so I will be doing more of that.  So what has been happening on my blog the last two weeks.

I hope you all have a great week. Happy Reading!

Today I have a blitz for Katia Rose's debut new adult romance novel, Latte Girl. Check out all about Latte Girl below as well as a chance to win some copies of Latte Girl!

Latte Girl

by Katia Rose
Genres: Comedy, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

Hot coffee is a regular fixture in Hailey Warren’s life. Hot guys? Not so much.
Her grueling shifts at a cafe in the heart of the city’s business sector are rarely punctuated by anything special, so when the gorgeous heir to the security company next door strides into Hailey’s life, it feels like punctuation with a capital P (or D, depending on your preferred terminology).

Jordan Knox is enough to send her heart racing faster than a triple shot of espresso, and when the attraction proves to be mutual, no hidden corners or empty offices are safe from their game of cat and mouse.

But when she’s ready to drop the pretenses, Jordan continues to hold back, and Hailey realizes he’s been hiding secrets that could make whatever’s brewing between them boil over and burn.

‘Latte Girl’ is a full length, standalone novel, and the debut title from author Katia Rose.

Excerpt

His body is turned towards me, one arm resting along the top of the couch. I think about how easy it would be to slide closer, to let him wrap his arm around my shoulders and put my head on his chest. My hands almost twitch at the thought of creeping up under his shirt again and feeling the smooth ridges of his stomach, the heat coming off his skin.
“Just you and all your millions of dollars,” I say, trying to get the conversation back on track.
“We are not that rich,” protests Jordan.
I give him a skeptical look.
“Okay, we’re rich,” he concedes, “but are you really telling me that growing up in a two million dollar house would be worth growing up without a sister?”
“Point taken,” I admit.
But growing up in a house where I could actually use a vibrator without my entire family hearing would have been nice, I add to myself.
Jordan is staring at me like I’ve announced I have a third nipple and I realize with horror that I just spoke my thoughts out loud.

Burger & Ice Cream Book Tags

So I haven't done a tag in a while and I found two older fun tags on Youtube and thought I would do them. I love burgers and ice cream so this suits me perfectly!

First up The Book Burger Tag. This was created by Ryan @ Ryan Reads Books. Basically we are building a burger out of books!! Lets Go! (Books Linked to Goodreads)

Bottom Bap Of The Burger- First book in a series you loved

Dominic (Slater Brothers' #1) by LA Casey - This is a series I am currently re reading after reading it last year and loving it. It is just one of those series' you eat up! It is new adult/adult contemporary romance. It has hate- love relationships, there is drama, hot american tattooed guys, no nonsense, funny Irish girls and it's set in Ireland. You need to pick this series up!

The Burger Meat- A thick book that you have read and enjoyed (400+ page)

Shadow Of Night (All Souls #2) by Deborah Harkness- The All Souls Trilogy is my favourite trilogy of all time! And the second book is my favourite, I think! I just adore this series, it is Adult PNR, urban fantasy. It is so so good!! I just need everyone to read it. The second book has an historical setting, it has witches, daemons and vampires. History, adventure, lore, intense romantic relationships, drama, mystery, side characters you will adore and overall it is just a fantastic trilogy!

Next a slice of cheese and lettuce- Two thins books, one you've enjoyed and one that you want to read but haven't yet. (200 pages or less)

Mind The Gap by Paul Earle- This is a short novella I read earlier in the year and it was a quick but important read about, grief, friendships and the length people would go for there friends in times of need.

Every Heart A Door way (Wayward Children #1) by Seanan McGuire- Everyone and there mother has read this and I just need to. It's about the kids that go to other worlds, like the Narnia kids and about a school that helps them adapt after coming back from those worlds. It just sounds really good!

Some nice sliced Tomato- An average sized book that you loved or one you hated (Between 200-400 pages)

Stubborn As A Mule (Sex and Sweet Tea #2) by Juliette Poe- This was a recent read and I really enjoyed it. It is the second book but can be read as as a standalone. It was just such a sweet Southern romance. That is a great summer read.

Some sauce that you have never tried before and you don't know if you'll love it or hate it- A book you thought you would love but hated or a book you thought you'd hate but loved.

Fifty Shades Of Grey (Fifty Shades #1) by EL James- I thought I was going hate this book, but I loved it! I really do love this trilogy. I know it isn't for everyone but I like it!

Finally the top bap to finish or burger- the last book in as series you are dreading the release of/ were dreading the release of because you don't want the series to end.

The Book Of Life (All Souls Trilogy #3) by Deborah Harkness- I really couldn't go for any other book. I was so scared for the ending of this trilogy. I was excited, scared, nervous I just had all the feels. I am happy to say it lived up to my expectations and I loved it. Again if you haven't read this trilogy I really encourage you to.

Lets see what my burger looks like! (It doesn't look like a burger but you get the idea LOL)

Now for the Ice Cream Book Tag, this one was created by Danni Darling . I am going pick a few flavours and answer the question relating to it!

Vanilla- A book you can read over and over again and still love every time

So many as it is my fave thing to do, re read books but one I love everytime I re read it and I do this once a year (I need to get on my yearly read soon) is Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern. I adore this book, it is written entirely in emails and letters. It is my fave Cecelia Ahern book and it never gets old.

Ice Cream Sandwich- the second book in a trilogy that is better than the first and the third.

Now this is cheating a little as I haven't read the last book yet. I did start it and couldn't get into it but besides that I loved the second book in the The 5th Wave trilogy more than the first. Don't get me wrong I loved the first book but I LOVED the second book way more. It was so good. I know alot of people have problems with this trilogy. But I read the first two books back to back and really enjoyed them.

Sherbert- A colourful and fun read

Me, Suzy P by Karen Saunders was just a fun middle grade/ YA read. It was just an entertaining laugh out loud book.

Ice Cream in a bowl- A book that didn't live up to your expectations

Paper Princess (The Royal #1) by Erin Watt- This was a book that had everything I should have loved in a book but it just didn't live up to my expectations. It was just OK.

Snow Cone- A book you read at warp speed because it was so good and you where left wanting more

Royal Affair (Royal Scandal #1) by Parker Swift was a book I sped read earlier this year and adored it, so much. As soon as I read it I had to send an email to the publisher to gush about how much I loved it.

That was the burger and ice cream tag. If you fancy doing any of them you are tagged. Let me know in the comments below you fave ice cream flavour is and answer on of the questions in the tags!

Books My Age

Today I have a fun post. Every year there are so many books published in lots of genres and it got me thinking what books where published the year I was born. I went on google and did some research and I found that surprisingly a lot of authors who released books then are still releasing books now!

So the year I was born was 1988 and here are some books that where published that year. (Books linked to Goodreads)

Matilda was published the month of my birthday, being October. When I was younger I read a few Roald Dahl books but not Matilda. I did enjoy the movie and would like to read the book someday. A girl who loves books and can control things with her mind, what's not to like!

The film of this book is a cult classic movie I feel and again this is a book I haven't read or seen the movie adaption. It's something that doesn't appeal to me but I didn't realize it was nearly 30 years old!

Again I haven't read a Terry Pratchett book but this is an author I do want to check out.

Margaret Atwood wasn't an author I was aware of until very recently which seems to be a failure on my part. Am not sure how famous Cat Eyes is. One book of hers that I do want to pick up is The Handmaids Tale. It has been everywhere lately because of the TV show, I feel I need to pick it up and watch the show ASAP!

This is such a famous book, enough said!

Finally an Anne Rice book. I really want to read this series I can't believe the first book was published in the 70's let alone this book being published the year I was born!

So that was some books published the year I was born. What are some of the books that where published the year you where born?
